CONNECTICUT : Pro Bono and Reduced Fee Legal Services
STATEWIDE LEGAL SERVICES - 800-453-3320
You should first call Statewide Legal Services (SLS) to see if you are eligible for free legal services. If you are, SLS will refer you to an attorney in your area at one of the legal aid offices below.
If you are unable to afford a lawyer and meet strict income requirements, you may qualify for free legal assistance in civil cases, depending on your income and the type of legal problem you have. Connecticut has four legal services agencies. All clients are initially referred to a legal services agency through Statewide Legal Services. If you are not eligible for free legal assistance, you will find referral information for private attorneys and attorneys who may take your case for a reduced or sliding scale fee below.
CONNECTICUT LEGAL SERVICES (CLS)
To find out if you are eligible for the CLS assistance, first call Statewide Legal Services at (800) 453-3320.
If you are over 60 and live in CLS' service area, call your local legal services office directly.
